Haiti Earthquake 2009 1-17-10

From left, Joel Neff of Riverdale and Kate Odell of Bronxville carefully weigh out 2000 pounds of urgent medical supplies bound for Haiti which was collected by the AFYA Foundation in Yonkers Jan. 17, 2010. The AFYA foundation along with Partners in Health out of Boston, have been collecting new and outdated medical equipment along with medical supplies from the area hospitals to be sent to impoverished countries. The organization was able to secure a plane through a donation and still is seeking more donations of transport to send more supplies to the beleaguered nation.  For more information on how you can help, the Foundation has a list of specific needs that it needs to fill which is listed on their website at the AFYA Foundation.
