On Sunday, May 30, The Journal News and LoHud.com will present a special report on the 65th anniversary of the end of World War II.
This anniversary may be the last major milestone witnessed by many veterans. In November 2009, the Veterans Administration estimated 2,272,000 veterans were still living. That number dwindles every day.
With that in mind, we’re asking you, our readers, to help us tell and preserve the stories of veterans from the Lower Hudson Valley. We’re seeking your photographs from the War era and written narratives of your memories. We’ll display materials we receive on a special LoHud.com page that will complement our May 30 report.
You can share your photos with us by uploading them at LoHud.com/Snap. Look for the “Military” in the drop-down menus when uploading a submission.
