This week I photographed a very unique camp activity at the Concordia Day Camp in Bronxville. They were making bead jewelry and selling the items to benefit a charity.
Teacher Connee Santiago, left, crimps an earring as Elena Napoli, 11 and Lauren Giammarella, 11 both of Eastchester, pick out some beads, during the Beads to Benefit Others class at the Concordia Day Camp in Bronxville, July 21, 2010. The campers in grades 5-9 design and create their own necklaces, bracelets and earrings. The students will pick a charity as a group, and then sell the hand-crafted items on the last day of the session, August 6, and donate the proceeds to that charity.
