An Eastchester police officer was injured Monday when an elderly driver struck his cruiser as the officer was escorting a funeral procession, Tuckahoe police reported.
Officer Richard Hoffman had his lights flashing on his patrol car at 12:03 p.m. Monday on Lake Avenue when a car driven by a 90-year-old Tuckahoe man slammed into his cruiser, Tuckahoe police Lt. Ray Stabile said. The air bag in the police cruiser deployed, Stabile said. Hoffman was treated at a local hospital for his injuries and later released Monday afternoon.
The elderly driver was not injured; he was issued a traffic ticked for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, Stabile said.
The large procession of about 100 people was being escorted through Tuckahoe from Yonkers by Tuckahoe and Eastchester police.

TAKE THE OLD BOY’S LICENSE AWAY IMMEDIATELY. 90 YEARS OLD IS TOO OLD TO DRIVE.
What will it take before the laws are changed ?? Drivers should be retested at 70 years of age & at least every year thereafter!!!
