Ken Jenkins, D-Yonkers, chairman of the Westchester County Board of Legislators, will meet with members of the Editorial Board at 1:30 p.m. Thursday for an Editorial Spotlight interview. The session will be broadcast live at lohud.com/editorialspotlight.
Earlier this week, Democratic members of the Westchester County Legislature added roughly $43 million in expenses and $35 million in revenues to County Executive Rob Astorino’s $1.78 billion budget proposal for 2011. The additions, which draw in part from borrowing $10 million from the county’s fund balance, would restore county jobs and funding to day-care programs, mental-health clinics and Section 8 housing. Republican legislators have said they support Astorino’s proposal. The Legislature is set to vote on the budget on Friday.
