For those with an interest in reality shows comes a new on-line-only series called “Talent: The Casting Call.”

The show premiered Jan. 11 on www.thetalentshow.com with six young women vying for the top spot in a talent elimination competition. Among them is Grace Doty of Eastchester, a student at Manhattanville College.

According to the press release, Alloy Entertainment and Jive Records created the idea and asked young singers from across the country to submit audition tapes. The producers narrowed the thousands of submissions down to six, who will be featured in the web cast. The winner gets a record deal with Jive and will star in “Talent,” a web show about “an aspiring young star.”

Doty, 19, a freshman at Manhattanville, said she submitted her audition video just under the wire after a friend of her mothers’ forwarded the email explaining the competition.

“Everybody who knows me knows music and singing are my main interests,” Doty said. “I thought it might be a fun thing to try and ended up sending in my audition video the day before the cut off. The quality could have been better… but they liked it.”

Filming took place in October, so Doty knows who won. She isn’t telling, instead suggesting people log in and see the show themselves.

“It was so fun, the funnest experience of my whole life,” she said. Viewers “should watch this web production because it’s so much fun. We did a lot of really cool things. People will be interested in seeing us battle it out.”

Doty, who lives on Franklin Avenue in Eastchester, is a graduate of New Rochelle’s Thornton-Donovan School. A singer-songwriter, she said she wants to pursue a music career. She plays acoustic guitar, and describes her music style as “pop blues with a rock edge.”

“Check it out,” she said. “Tell me what you think.”

Alloy Entertainment has produced “Gossip Girl,” “Vampire Diaries” and “Pretty Little Liars;” Jive Records has signed ‘N Sync, Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears.
