According to an announcement, “Guests will be greeted by club members, learn about the many programs and enjoy tea, wine and sweets in beautiful Rowsley, the historic clubhouse. The non-profit organization features educational, artistic, cultural and philanthropic activities.”
All women are invited to join the club regardless of where they live. Members come from 28 communities, including New York City and locations in Rockland County.
The Scarsdale Woman’s Club began in 1915 as a civic organization to support first the Suffrage Movement and then the American Red Cross during the First World War. It was incorporated in 1918 and has sponsored or supported many ongoing civic programs. Among them are the Scarsdale Library, The Alzheimer’s Association, Grace Soup Kitchen and the Girl Scouts.
