The Scarsdale Public Library is asking the community to donate lightly used books for its annual book sale.
Donations will be accepted through Aug. 25 at the library at 54 Olmstead Road in Scarsdale. The library asks that books be left inside the gray door on the side of the building.
The library notes that books should be in good condition and asks the public to refrain from dropping off moldy, tattered books. Textbooks, encyclopedias and magazines are also off limits for donations.
Bestsellers, classics, biographics, fiction, parenting, cooking, art, computing, humor, self-helf, religion, business, poetry and children’s books are all welcome. The library is also seeking DVDs, CDs, videotapes, audiobooks and sheet music.
Last year, there were more than 60,000 offerings and more than $45,000 was raised to support library programs.
The book sale will run from Sept. 7 to 16, with a “friends” preview on the first night from 7 to 9 p.m. for members. New members can join at the door with a donation of $25.
