The Scarsdale Public Library is now offering a new option for patrons who want to watch videos on the go: A portable all-in-one video player called the Playaway View.
The handheld device will be loaned to patrons who can choose from educational and entertainment programming from such media companies as PBS Kids, National Geographic, Sesame Street and TumbleBooks. More than 100 titles are now available and more will come each month. Up to six hours of content can be loaded on the device.
The device weighs 5.4 ounces and features a 3.5-inch LCD screen and built-in speakers and a headphone jack.
A representative from the device’s maker, Findaway World, will be at the library from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Aug. 8 to to answer questions from patrons.
