Scarsdale High grad and journalist Eric Alterman is coming to the Scarsdale Public Library on Oct. 2 to talk about his most recent book, “The Cause: The Fight for American Liberalism from Franklin Roosevelt to Barack Obama.”
Alterman, a bestselling author and professor of English and journalism at Brooklyn College and CUNY Graduate School of Journalism, will discuss the historic struggles of liberals to transform government as well as the spheres of entertainment, law and media. The two-hour event begins at 8 p.m.
Also coming in October will be author Susan Shapiro Barash at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 17 to talk about her book, “The Nine Phases of Marriage: How to Make It, Break It, Keep It.”
Former New York Times Ethicist columnist Randy Cohen completes the trio of speakers at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 1, when he talks about his new book, “Be Good: How to Navigate the Ethics of Everything.” Cohen will reflect on his 12 years at the Times and how the moral landscape and his own thinking have changed.
