Patricia Dunn will be holding a talk at 8 p.m. Sept. 14 at Sarah Lawrence College to discuss her new young adult novel, “Rebels by Accident.”
Dunn, a professor at Sarah Lawrence, explores the recent revolution in Egypt through the story of an Egyptian-American girl sent to her grandmother’s house in Cairo as punishment for a little too much teenage rebellion. Soon, the teen experiences actual rebellion and its consequences.
Dunn, a former managing editor of the Muslim online magazine Muslimwakeup.com, is a writer whose work has appeared in myriad publications, including Salon.com, The Christian Science Monitor, The Nation and The Village Voice.
