The Junior League of Bronxville will receive the Community Spirit Award from Yonkers-based nonprofit group Cluster Inc. at an event on Oct. 25.
Cluster provides services in Westchester and Rockland counties through programs such as the Westchester Mediation Center, a summer camp, afterschool programs and housing and case management services for people who have severe mental illness.
The Junior League of Bronxville is being honored for its work with youth. The group has more than 350 members from Bronxville, Eastchester, Mount Vernon, Tuckahoe and Yonkers who focus on problems such as hunger, childhood nutrition and at-risk families and the elderly.
Also being honored is Kenneth Nilsen, president of Nilsen Management Co., who will receive the corporate leadership award.
The awards will be presented at a wine-tasting event at the Estherwood Mansion in Dobbs Ferry. Chairpersons for the event are John and Kyla Murphy of Tuckahoe and Christina DiMinno of Bronxville.
