Dick Forliano has been named the Grand Marshal of Eastchester’s 2012 Columbus Day Parade. He has been Eastchester Town Historian since 1988.
The recipient of the Monsignor Anthony Maltese Humanitarian Award is Diane Luisi, who has raised more than $125,000 through the Paul Luisi Foundation for cancer research in honor of her son.
Eastchester Supervisor Anthony Colavita and the Eastchester Town Board made a special presentation to Forliano, Luisi and other honorees at the board meeting on Oct. 2.
Also honored was Will Humphreys, this year’s recipient of the David R. DiRubba Community Service Award. Humphreys is a partner in the Eastchester’s Value Drugs and has sponsored a wide array of community events, including the Columbus Day Parade and discounted packs of school supplies.
“The committee chose exceptional honorees this year. We are proud of them. Each has contributed greatly to the betterment of our town and are deserving of such a great distinction,” Colavita said.
The Eastchester Columbus Day Parade will take place at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 7, starting at Immaculate Conception Church and continuing up White Plains Road to Lake Isle Country Club.
