The OSilas Gallery at Bronxville’s Concordia College will host an opening reception at 7 p.m. on Nov. 2 for a new exhibit: “Journey of Peace: Art as Meditation Exhibition.”
The exhibit explores the relationship between art and devotional practices, which both require separation from worldly concerns and attention to the present. Visitors to the exhibit will be encouraged to share in the meditative experience by contemplating each work of art fully rather than scan the pieces in a hurry.
Children ages 5 to 10 are invited to an “ARTyFACTS” event from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 10 that will include exploration of the exhibit followed by a hands-on art project. Reservations are required.
Yoga enthusiasts are invited for an event from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 15 that will combine meditation and yoga in the gallery. The event is sponsored by Yoga Haven of Scarsdale and Tuckahoe. Space is limited to 25 participants.
