Joseph Mammana of Eastchester donated his first unit of blood in 1974 as a favor to a boss whose nephew needed a pint donation. On Oct. 15, he gave his 80th unit at the LeRoy Gregory Post 979 of the American Legion in Eastchester.
Town Supervisor Anthony Colavita presented Mammana with a proclamation honoring his donations.
“I would give every week if I could,” said Mammana, who has also been honored by the county legislature, the American Legion, the VFW and the American Red Cross.
