An exhibit featuring the works of artist and illustrator Nancy Duncan Cheadle will be on display at the Bronxville Women’s Club, 135 Midland Ave., during the month of November.
Cheadle, a member of the club, died in June at age 53. A reception in her honor will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 4.
Cheadle had a successful career as a romance book cover artist and created more than 180 original oil paintings with publishers such as HarperCollins’ Harlequin and Silhouette Books.
She was born in Long Beach, Calif., on Sept. 22, 1958. When she was 18, Western artist Fred Fellows noticed some of her sketches while she was on vacation in Montana and urged her to pursue a career as an artist. She received a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, Calif.
