Eastchester Supervisor Anthony S. Colavita has issued a statement about the status of Consolidated Edison’s work in the town:
Like our adjoining municipalities, there is a single Con Edison crew operating in the Town of Eastchester. Unfortunately, the town has little control over Con Edison. We are working to secure as much attention from Con Edison as possible over the next several days. Pursuant to a conference call with all municipalities and Con Edison this morning, Con Edison is advising us that their goal is to have power restored by the weekend of November 10th. The Town will continue to exercise as much pressure as possible to advance that date. Con Edison advises us that clearing streets is their top priority and thereafter restoring power to the schools, shelters, and lastly to residents.News 4 has reported that Eastchester is the best place to get gas. Regrettably, this has resulted in a traffic mess in our community. Please be reminded that there are temporary stop signs located throughout the town (even under yellow/red blinking traffic lights). Please be patient and careful. We will continue to fight with Con Edison to advance more activity in our town.
