The Junior League of Central Westchester raised $18,000 at its 26th annual holiday boutique on Nov. 8 and Nov. 9 at the Lake Isle Country Club in Eastchester. The funds, which were 20 percent of the $90,000 in total sales, will support the Junior League’s programs for low-income families. A portion of the proceeds will also aid Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.
More than 300 Junior League members and friends were involved in the event, which came amid continuing cleanup and power outages from Sandy and just after the Nor’easter of Nov. 7. Junior League President Lauren Wyler-Smith said: “As many of our own members face struggles in the aftermath of the storm, we have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of care and support from the community.”
