The parent-teacher associations of the elementary schools in the Town of Eastchester have started a holiday toy drive to benefit Matthew’s Wish, a nonprofit organization that gives toys to sick kids at Cohen Children’s Medical Center in Queens. This year’s drive will also benefit children in areas affected by Hurricane Sandy. “A lot of parents came to us this year and said we want to do something for victims of Hurricane Sandy,” said parent volunteer Wendy Pregiato.
The PTA is asking donors to bring new, unwrapped children’s toys and put them in the bins located at each of the schools before Dec. 15.
