New York State Assemblywoman Amy Paulin, D-Scarsdale, is seeking a part-time media director. An advertisement placed on Craigslist.org Tuesday afternoon gives the details of the position, which will pay $18,000 to $20,000 a year.
Paulin, whose 88th Assembly District includes Scarsdale, Eastchester, Bronxville, Tuckahoe, and parts of White Plains and New Rochelle, wants to hire someone knowledgeable about Westchester County. “We would prefer a media director that is a county resident and knowledgeable about the Westchester political scene,” the ad reads.
The job will entail updating social media sites such as Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn as well as traditional communications tasks such as dealing with reporters and writing press releases.
The advertisement states that the job isn’t reserved just for Democrats. “While there is no political affiliation requirement associated with this position, we prefer that you share the basic principles of the Democratic Party including government accountability, the importance of providing social services and public education, and promoting equality and fairness for all of New York’s citizens,” the ad states.
The ad encourages applicants to review Paulin’s recent press releases before applying.
