Rabbi Jeffrey C. Brown will be officially installed at Scarsdale Synagogue Temples Tremont and Emanu-El during the Hanukkah services on Dec. 14. The public is invited to the 7:30 p.m. celebration at the synagogue at 2 Ogden Road. A reception will follow.

Brown became the congregation’s rabbi in July, succeeding Rabbi Stephen A. Klein, who served as the congregation’s senior rabbi since 1982 and is now rabbi emeritus.

Rabbi David Ellenson, president of Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, will conduct the installation ceremony. Also leading will be Rabbi David Frank of Temple Solel in Cardiff, Calif., where Brown served before coming to Scarsdale.

Other participants in the ceremony will be Rabbi Emeritus Klein; the congregation’s cantor, Chanin Becker; Rabbi Lisa Goldstein, executive director of the Institute for Jewish Spirituality; and Cantor Leigh Korn of Temple Isaiah in Lafayette, Calif.
