The Bronxville Adult School, which offers cultural, academic and recreational classes to adults, is searching for a new executive director. Barbara Corcoran Begert, the current executive director, is leaving in January for the New York Botanical Garden, where she will become vice president of continuing and public education.
Chris Zufelt, chairman of the board of trustees, praised Begert’s work since she joined the Bronxville Adult School in 2010. “In her first year, she had our website completely redesigned, allowing us to offer online registration for the first time. Her efforts in community outreach, marketing and development, her personal touch with students and faculty alike and her never-failing enthusiasm propelled the BAS to new heights,” he said in a written statement.
Candidates for the job must have a record of developing programs and managing multiple complex projects as well as leadership and interpersonal skills.
