Citizens Teen Police Academy offers Scarsdale teens a chance to learn about police work

Scarsdale teens can get a sample of what police work is really like through the Citizens Teen Police Academy, a program offered by the the Scarsdale Police Department and The Center @862. Students will view the Scarsdale Police headquarters, vehicles and equipment. They will learn about the history of police owrk, forensics, evidence collection, SWAT teams, police canines and law enforcement training.

Scarsdale’s youth officer, Detective Sherri Albano, will direct the academy, which is open to middle and high school students.┬áThe classes will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesdays from Feb. 13 to March 20 at police headquarters at 50 Tompkins Road in Scarsdale.┬áStudents can register for this free program through The Center@862 by calling 914-722-8358 or emailing ellen@scarsdaleteencenter.com.
