A teen gathering at Scarsdale Synagogue raised more than $6,000 for the Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation, which provides financial assistance and research grants for families affected by pediatric cancer. More than 150 teens from the 38 synagogues and temples in the area participated in a “bowl-a-thon” in White Plains. The event was part of an annual three-day winter gathering known in Hebrew as a “kallah.” It included other programs as well as an evening prayer service led by Scarsdale Synagogue’s Rabbi Jeffrey Brown.
