Karen Kolodny, a New York City resident with a decade of experience at the 92ndStreet Y, has been named the new executive director of the Jewish Community Center of Mid-Westchester, 999 Wilmot Road in Scarsdale. Kolodny has been the Y’s director of the Milstein/Rosenthal Center for Media & Technology since 2001 and its director of legal affairs since 2005. Before joining the Y, she helped launch Sotheby’s online auction operation. Kolodny has certificates in arts administration and business technology from New York University as well as a bachelor’s degree in civil law and a bachelor’s of common law from McGill University and a master of law from Cambridge University. She is married with two teenage daughters. Kolodny’s plans for the JCC include an emphasis on fundraising, expanding programming and developing community partnerships.
