Scarsdale High School’s H.E.L.P. Animals Club will sponsor a walk/bike-a-thon from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 19 to support the Tower of Hope, which raises money to provide service dogs to disabled veterans and others in need of physical and psychological support. The club hopes to raise $22,000 to train a dog for a severely wounded veteran. The route will begin at Scarsdale High’s Brewster Road entrance and continue to the Westchester County bike path entrance near the Hitchcock Church and continue to the 9/11 monument at Kensico Dam in Valhalla. Participants will return to the high school on the same route. The round trip is about 12 miles. Another option is following the Bronx River Parkway, which will be closed from Scarsdale Road to the County Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for Bicycle Sunday. The event will be held rain or shine.
