Josh Elder, the assistant principal of Harrison High School, has been named assistant principal at Eastchester Middle School. He is replacing Scott Wynne, who was recently promoted to principal when Walter Moran was named as successor to departing Superintendent Marilyn Terranova. Elder was supervisor of secondary social studies in Harrison before being promoted to assistant principal in 2010. Before that, he was an assistant principal in Greece, N.Y. Elder was chosen from a pool of about 300 applicants. He holds a bachelor’s degree in history and secondary education from SUNY Potsdam and a master’s degree in education from the University of Rochester. He will be officially appointed at the meeting of the school board at 8 p.m. June 18 meeting at Eastchester High School. The personnel moves in Eastchester are effective July 15.
