Keep giving us your pothole alerts!03.04.10

You did a great job yesterday telling us where the worst potholes are in your neighborhood, but we know there’s more out there.

Click here and help us create a public record and watch areas for the worst road hazards. Or just click on the “Fix It! tab above. Here’s how it all works:

If you’re tired of seeing an issue in your town go unresolved, there’s something you can do about it. With the new mapping feature called
SeeClickFix, you can report various types of problems in your neighborhood, from potholes to broken signage.

SeeClickFix not only allows you to report a problem, it also can notify your local official, if they’ve signed up to receive the alerts, so they can do something about it.

Let’s get started. Click on the Fix It! tab in the navigation. On the Google map, find the street where the issue is located. Click on the map
and a point will be assigned. Click the Report Here button and fill out a description of the issue, your name and e-mail address. You can even upload a photo, if you want. Click on the Report Your Issue button and voila!

In addition to posting your own issue, you can lend your support to problems others have posted. By clicking on the “I want this fixed too!”
link, you can vote for it. You can also comment on it and send yourself alerts by clicking on the eye icon.

Another interesting feature is creating a watch area by plotting an area on a Google map. Every time someone posts an issue, you’ll get an alert.

You can use SeeClickFix even if you’re not at your home computer. Download the mobile apps to use it on your iPhone, Blackberry or
Android. Other tools include using your Facebook account to connect, embedding a widget or subscribing to an RSS feed.

There are many more features, so start exploring today.
